Meet The Dentist

Dr. Abad’s career has been dedicated to deliver efficient, high-level comprehensive periodontal and implant care in a collaborative setting. Grounded by a strong commitment to patient-centered treatment, evidence-based clinical excellence, and continuous professional growth, her goal is to educate her patients on the various aspects of periodontal disease while maintaining an empathetic approach, and deliver long-term, predictable results utilizing the latest technology and advancements in the field.

Originally from the Bay Area (South Bay), Dr. Abad is a first-generation Filipina-American who has close relatives in the dental field, but is the only one who decided to specialize. Growing up, she had always been intrigued with surgery, and after completing her first periodontics rotation during her D3 year, it did not take her long to decide to pursue a career as a periodontist, fascinated by the wide variety of procedures that could be done within the specialty. After completing her education at New York University College of Dentistry, she immediately started her periodontics training at Boston University, where she received both her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies and Master of Science in Periodontology, completing her thesis dissertation on dental implant failures in patients with allergies to beta-lactam antibiotics. During her residency, Dr. Abad received advanced training in the comprehensive diagnosis/treatment of medically complex patients, moderate sedation in anxious patients, hard and soft tissue augmentation/phenotype modification, digital workflow for single, multiple, and full-arch cases with various implant systems, robotic-guided implant surgery (YOMI, Navident, X-Guide), and even the administration of Botox and dermal filler in patients with TMJ disorders and esthetic periodontal concerns (i.e. “gummy smiles”).

In addition to providing individualized patient care, Dr. Abad values multi-specialty collaboration with general dentists, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. She strongly believes in a team-centered, empathetic approach to patient care and enjoys developing long-term relationships with patients and referring providers.

In her free time, Dr. Abad enjoys traveling, working out at [Solidcore], trying out new restaurants, drinking coffee, and watching various TV shows, like Friends, anything in the Game of Thrones franchise, and medical dramas. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and partner Ian, as well as reading on her Kindle. She is also a huge fan of beagle dogs, Pokemon, Disney, and Harry Potter.
